Certified Weld Procedures
Northern Stainless is committed to producing the highest quality metals and metal products. As part of this commitment, our welders have been certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) and have also met certification standards in the following:
ASME Code Section IX
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers established Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code to ensure welders understand and meet the requirements for all aspects of welding steam boilers and other vessels which need to function safely under pressure.
NACE
NACE International (formerly known as the National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certifies and trains members in corrosion testing, metal inspection, coatings and the selection of materials best suited for resistance to chemicals.
NAVSEA
The US Navy established this certification standard to ensure repair work done on machinery and systems aboard ships is done to the most exacting standards. Because our pumps and valves are often used in naval vessels, Northern Stainless welders are certified to NAVSEA standards.
